Twenty-two juniors between the ages of nine and 17 registered to participate in the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club’s summer Jr. Pickleball Clinic on Saturday, June 25.
During the first half of the clinic, club volunteers taught the kids the basic rules and skills of pickleball, how to serve, and strategy. The second half included a skills challenge and a four-round tournament.
With a perfect score, Dara Short went undefeated in the four-round tournament. Brayden Bandaruk came in second place, Julian Gonzales came in third place, and Juan Gonzales came in fourth place.
Vinnie Kane and Julian Gonzalez were the winners of the skills challenge and received gift cards.
The kids and their parents were entered into a raffle for gift cards and enjoyed snacks and drinks provided by the club.
