The Canyon Lake Library has wrapped up its Kindles for Kids Winter Challenge, a growing program designed to encourage young readers to dive into books and develop a love for reading.
The challenge ran from December 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, and featured two age categories: 5-9 and 10-18.
The winners, Aiden and Jeremiah, each received a new Kindle, sponsored by Canyon Lake residents Lori and Todd Stover. Aiden wrote a review of the book Tornado Hunter, and Jeremiah read a total of 507 books.
Between our library’s Winter Reading Challenge and Winter Writing Challenge, 57 participants read a combined total of 2241 books.
The next Kindles for Kids Challenge will run from March 13 to May 31. The readers with the highest number of books in each age category will win a new Kindle. Participants must register and obtain a challenge code from the library.
