The Canyon Lake Lions Club invites local golfers to participate in its 31st Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 8, at Canyon Lake Golf and Country Club. Check-in time is 10:30 a.m., followed by a putting contest at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12 p.m.
Golfers with a handicap can choose a pro-am event. Three amateurs will pair with a club pro in a two best ball format. Golfers with or without a handicap can choose a four-person scramble.
Players have an opportunity to win a new golf cart in the hole-in-one contest. Other contests include a putting contest, longest drive contest, and closest to the pin contest for both men and women. Contest details will be provided at check-in.
Green fees are $75.00 for members and $113.00 for non-members. Registration includes a banquet and awards. Cart fees are $15.
The registration deadline is May 26 for play with a pro. Other players must register by June 1. Signups are taken at the Golf Pro Shop or by contacting Pat Kemble at 951-246-11782.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for tee signs, green signs, and contests. For sponsorship information, contact Dave Birkett at 951-445-2754 or Tina Visser at 928-846-2542.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Guild Dogs of the Desert, a nonprofit organization that provides mobility, companionship, and independence for the blind with custom-trained guide dogs. These life-changing partnerships are formed to meet the individual needs of each handler and their guide dog.
