The Canyon Lake Lions Club held an Open House on Saturday, March 26, at the senior center to share with the community what the Lions Club offers and to showcase its philanthropic endeavors.

Visitors were welcomed with snacks, drinks, and an activity table for kids. Each visitor received a succulent plant as a thank you for attending.

Guests included Karen Cooper of the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House and Ken Reed and Rob Manning of KidSight.

The Lions Club holds several events throughout the year to raise funds for its philanthropic endeavors. These events include bi-monthly bingo fundraisers at the senior center, a golf tournament, and a community pancake breakfast.

The club also collects can pull tabs to raise funds for the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House, takes up collections for the White Cane Project, collects eyeglasses for Friends in Sight and KidSight, and donates monthly to H.O.P.E. This year, the funds raised at the Lions Club annual golf tournament will benefit Guide Dogs of the Desert.

To donate pull tabs, used eyeglasses, or make a monetary donation to the Lions Club, contact Nancy Coughlin at 951-805-0543. For information about joining the Lions Club, contact Membership Chair Janice Ellis at 951-285-6245. The Lions Club meets monthly on the third Thursday at the senior center.
