Canyon Lake Mayor Jeremy Smith and his wife, Elissa, announced they are expecting their third child. The couple is expecting a baby girl on November 17. Following the tradition of naming their children after presidents, they plan to name their daughter Nixon.
The Smiths are the parents of two girls, Kennedy, 5, and Raegan, 3, who are looking forward to meeting their new sister.
The Smiths have known each other since preschool. They attend school together through junior high and then reconnected in college. They were married eight years ago on Pearl Harbor Day.
Smith was elected to the Canyon Lake City Council in 2018. He was appointed mayor pro tem in 2020 and mayor in 2021 and 2022. Smith ran unopposed in the 2022 general election. His four-year term ends in November 2026.
