
The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club hosted its annual summer Junior Clinic on Saturday with more than 35 kids participating.
The clinic offered introductory lessons to kids ages nine through 17. Participants were introduced to the rules of the game and participated in challenges and a tournament. There were five teaching stations and skill challenges.
Chandler Fearing won the serving challenge in the nine through 11 age group. Luke Thomas won the challenge in the 12 through 17 age group.



In the dinking challenge, there was a three-way tie between Rylee Gribble, Sailor Paasch, and Rylan Chavez in the nine through 11 age group and a two-way tie between Luke Thomas and Braiden in the 12 through 17 age group.
In the ball control on the paddle challenge, Rylee Bribble won the nine through 11 age group with 154 in 60 seconds. With 202 in 60 seconds, Luke Thomas won the 12 through 17 age group.
In the wall control challenge, Rylee Gribble won first place in the nine through 11 age group. She hit the wall 79 times without letting the ball bounce. Bradley Thompson came in second place. Madison Thompson came in third place. With 150 hits, Alena Perigan came in first place in the 12 through 17 age group, followed by Grant Fearing and Kylee Libring.
Rylee Gribble, Chandler Fearing, and Rylan Chavez won the tournament in the 9 through 11 age group. Mathew Thomas took first place in the 12 through 17 age group, followed by Grant Fearing in second place and Alena Perigan in third place.
Participants won prizes, such as new paddles, through random drawings and for winning challenges and tournaments.
Nothing Bundt Cakes, Starbucks, Pickleball Chalet, Bruce Wallace, and Heidi Newton provided gifts and prizes.
Volunteers included Carl and Nancy Duplan and their daughter and son-in-law, Tom Garcia, Farzad Adib, Kimberly Keigwin, Diane Libring, Pete Velasquez, Paul Hawker, and Teresa Fidler.
