The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club recently surpassed the 500-member mark.
In May 2021, club membership was 190. Less than two years later, membership grew to more than 500 members at a steady rate of about 16 new members per month.
The club attributes the “great Canyon Lake weather, the lake view, the recreational theme of the community, and active residents” to the growth of the club.
“Canyon Lake is blessed with some of the most beautiful courts in all of Southern California,” President Paul Hawker said. “With the amazing lake views, it is a premier facility.”
Pickleball’s explosive growth is due to its appeal to a wide audience, Hawker explained. “Kids can play with grandparents, amateur athletes can play a high-level game, and the general community plays mid-level social games with their neighbors.”
