The Canyon Lake POA selected long-time POA employee Lynn Jensen as its 2024 Fiesta Day Parade grand marshal, the POA announced on Tuesday.
A Canyon Lake tradition for more than 50 years, Fiesta Day is considered the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events.
Held annually on Memorial Day weekend, Fiesta Day (also known as Fiesta Hopper) features three days of fun at five locations throughout the community. Fiesta Day’s main event is an old-fashioned hometown parade.
Although Jensen announced her resignation earlier this month (her last day is April 10), she was chosen as the grand marshal in recognition and celebration of more than two decades of employment with the POA and commitment to the community.
Hired in 2001, Jensen has held several positions within the organization, starting as an associate in the Member Services and Planning and Compliance departments and ascending to supervisor of Member Services. Her journey continued as she took on the Activities director responsibilities, overseeing the pool operations, equestrian center, campground, clubs, community events, recreational amenities, and senior center functions.
Appointed assistant general manager in 2017, Jensen has played a pivotal role in overseeing the Human Resources, Member Services, Planning and Compliance, Activities, and Communications departments, as well as facility schedules, food and beverage, and community events.
