The Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors approved additional funding in the amount of $38,600 for design of two new pickleball courts at East Port Park.

In 2017, the POA built four lakeside pickleball courts at East Port Park. Since that time, the Pickleball Club membership has grown to more than 300. The POA said it has been requested to explore the addition of two more pickleball courts, which were left out of the original design.

In November of 2021, the board approved funding in the amount of $24,400 for the design of the two new courts. According to the POA, the additional $38,600 is needed due to the design process taking longer and costing more than expected because of committee requests, discovered site conditions, and additional post tension slab engineering.

“While the main design is complete, we are still wrapping up the electrical engineering, which should be done this month,” the POA said.
