The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors is taking stronger action to deter the use of fireworks within the community by significantly increasing fines.
On June 3, the POA Board of Directors approved a 28-day reading to increase the fine from $100 to $1,000 for the use of fireworks. The fine will triple to $3,000 if the violation occurs on a holiday/holiday weekend, such as the Fourth of July.
The rule for fireworks states that no person shall sell, offer for sale, use, discharge, possess, store, or transport any type of fireworks within the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association community unless the person or organization has obtained a special permit from the general manager. Violations subject the prime member to applicable fines.
