Canyon Lake POA employee receives prestigious industry award

Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (CLPOA) employee Harmony McNaughton received the prestigious 2024 California Association of Community Managers (CACM) Innovator Vision Award on Thursday, February 28, during the CACM Law Seminar & Expo at the Disneyland Hotel and Convention Center.

McNaughton was also a nominee in the Leadership category. Notably, McNaughton’s co-worker, Communications Manager Tiffany Cribbs, was also a nominee in the Innovator category.

The highest distinction bestowed upon California community managers, the Vision Awards program identifies those who exemplify the very best in the profession of community management, honors their contributions to the profession, and recognizes the positive difference they have made in the lives of their colleagues, association homeowners, and the communities they serve.

“I’m truly honored to have been nominated by my colleagues and to have won this year’s Manager Vision Award for Innovator,” McNaughton said. “Thank you to my mentors, friends, family, and the entire CLPOA team.”

Currently serving as the public information officer and clerk of the board, McNaughton’s journey with the CLPOA began 16 years ago as a high school student working as a seasonal swim instructor. 

Over the years, McNaughton has held various positions within the organization, including member services clerk, corporate receptionist, corporate administration specialist, and communications and marketing specialist.

Working closely with the CLPOA general managers and board of directors, McNaughton’s responsibilities encompass a wide array of takes, including organizing meetings, agendas, and minutes, overseeing elections, and managing public information initiatives.

McNaughton’s professional credentials include certifications such as the Certified Community Association Manager—Large Scale and Certified Manager of Community Associations certifications, reflecting her commitment to excellence in her field.
