Canyon Lake POA halts gas, propane sales amid insurance challenges

Due to the challenges in the California insurance market, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (POA) has halted gas and propane sales at Happy Camp.

As of midnight tonight, all current insurance policies held by the POA will expire, and the POA is facing significant rate increases due to the impact of California wildfires and the broader challenges within the state’s insurance industry.

Despite these difficulties, the POA said it expects to secure new insurance coverage for its fuel sales in the coming days.

“Due to the challenging insurance market in California, our insurance brokers are still pursuing coverage for the marine gas and propane sales at Happy Camp,” the POA said. “All our insurance policies renew tonight at midnight, and the Canyon Lake POA is facing very high rate increases due to the California wildfires and the current state of insurance all over California. “We expect to have new coverage for the fuel sales in the coming days.”
