On March 28, the Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from February 24 through March 23. The report highlighted 72 calls for service.
Staff performed 12 boat safety inspections, eight boat tows, seven fishing license checks, 28 debris/other retrieval and disposal, and 18 quagga inspections.
Four citations were issued for expired/no registration (State) and 12 for expired/no registration at a dock or lift.
In addition to 31 verbal and four written warnings, two citations were issued for excessive wake in a no-wake zone, two for failure to present a valid ID, and two for “other” violations. One citation was issued for no fishing license.
Patrol boats operated 148.1 hours on the main lake, 106.6 hours on the East Bay, and 5.2 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 126.8 hours, boat two operated 84.8 hours, boat three operated 5.2 hours, and boat four operated 43.1 hours.
Unlike Community Patrol employees, Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
