On June 4, the Canyon Lake POA presented the Marine Patrol report for the month of April 2022.
Marine Patrol received 279 calls for service, more than double the calls from the previous month. Staff performed 206 boat safety inspections, 9 boat tows, two battery assists, and 34 quagga inspections.
Marine Patrol performed 20 fishing license checks and issued one citation and one warning.
Nine citations and four warnings were issued for excessive wake. One citation was issued for noise. Two warnings were issued for reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat and one warning was issued for failure to present ID.
One citation was issued for expired/no registration (state) and 10 warnings were issued for expired/no registration (POA). One citation was issued for no expired/no registration at a dock or lift.
Patrol boats operated a total of 185.8 hours on the main lake, 135 hours on the East Bay, and 17.3 on the north ski area. Boat one operated 134.4 hours, boat two operated 73 hours, boat three operated 17.3 hours, and boat four operated 1113.4 hours.
No incidents were reported in the month of April.
The primary functions of Marine Patrol are rules and regulations compliance, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
