On January 3, Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from November 27 through December 29, 2024.
Marine Patrol received 52 calls for service. Staff performed eight boat safety inspections, 4 boat tows, two battery assists, 11 fishing license checks, nine debris/other retrieval and disposal, and 11 quagga inspections.
No citations were issued, according to the report.
Verbal warnings included 22 for excessive wake in a no-wake zone, five for no fishing license, two for failure to present a valid ID, and eight for miscellaneous incidents. One written warning miscellaneous warning was issued.
Patrol boats operated 171.3 hours on the main lake, 126.5 hours on the East Bay, and 9.3 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 132.6 hours, boat two operated 147.3 hours, boat three operated 9.3 hours, and boat four operated 17.9 hours.
Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
