On September 9, the Canyon Lake POA presented the Marine Patrol report for the month of July 2022.
Marine Patrol received 203 calls for service, a decrease of 107 calls from the previous month. Staff performed 112 boat safety inspections, 16 boat tows, one battery assist, and 61 quagga inspections.
Marine Patrol performed 28 fishing license checks. One warning and three citations were issued.
Seven citations were issued for expired/no registration (POA) and three citations were issued for expired/no registration at a dock or lift.
Four citations and seven warnings were issued for excessive wake. Three warnings were issued for reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat.
Eight warnings were issued for plowing. One citation and one warning were issued for noise.
Patrol boats operated a total of 201.5 hours on the main lake, 171.7 hours on the East Bay, and 42.8 on the north ski area. Boat one operated 148.6 hours, boat two operated 194.8 hours, boat three operated 42.8 hours, and boat four operated 29.8 hours.
No incidents were reported in the month of July.
The primary functions of the Marine Patrol are rules and regulations compliance, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
