On September 1, the Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for the month of July 2023
Marine Patrol received 208 calls for service. Staff performed 104 boat safety inspections, 25 boat tows, three battery assists, 15 fishing license checks, and 61 quagga inspections.
Three warnings were issued for excessive wake, two warnings were issued for reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat, two warnings were issued for plowing, and one warning was issued for loud noise.
Two citations were issued for fishing licenses, 11 citations were issued for expired/no registration at a dock, seven citations were issued for expired/no registration (POA), and three citations were issued for expired/no registration (state).
Patrol boats operated a total of 205.4 hours on the main lake, 105.3 hours on the East Bay, and 79.7 hours on the north ski area. Boat one operated 127.5 hours, boat two 178.1 hours, boat three operated 79.7 hours, and boat four operated 5.1 hours.
The primary functions of the Marine Patrol are rules and regulations compliance, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
