On September 27, the Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from August 26 through September 22.
Marine Patrol received 108 calls for service. Staff performed 18 boat safety inspections, 18 boat tows, two battery assists, five fishing license checks, and 29 quagga inspections.
Staff issued 18 citations. They include one citation for expired/no registration (State), two for expired/no registration (POA), one for excessive wake in a no wake zone, two for reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat, two for loud noise, and 10 miscellaneous citations.
In addition to written citations, staff issued 59 verbal warnings and two written warnings.
Patrol boats operated 178 hours on the main lake, 118.9 hours on the East Bay, and 4.1 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 154 hours, boat two operated 105.6 hours, boat three operated 4.1 hours, and boat four operated 37.3 hours.
Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
