The POA Board of Directors on Tuesday approved reinstating a standing Security Advisory Committee with a focused charter and formal tasking to serve the community and avoid past challenges.
The purpose of the committee is to leverage professionals with experience and expertise to help the POA address security challenges. The committee does not take the place of law enforcement or Community Patrol.
The committee will be comprised of professionals with experience in law enforcement, facilities security, and security technology. The committee will receive tasking and serve under the guidance of a board liaison (Director Bill Van Vleet) and a POA staff member (Cory Gorham).
The board is soliciting members of the community to serve on the committee, specifically those with experience in law enforcement, facilities security, and security technology. Committee members will be selected through an interview process. Members must be in “in good standing” to serve on POA committees.
Non-committee members may attend the Security Advisory Committee meetings once they resume.
