Taco Tuesday nights are over but there is one more opportunity to gather as a community at the lodge to enjoy the lake, the ambiance of a summer sunset, and the camaraderie of neighbors.

The Canyon Lake POA invites residents to break out their favorite Hawaiian shirts or hula skirts and celebrate the end of summer Hawaiian style at Maui Sunday on September 4.

From 4 to 7 p.m., the grass area at the lodge will feature waterslides and lawn games. The lodge will be offering Hawaiian-themed food options.

At 7 p.m., the community is invited to the sand at Sunset Beach to watch a performance by the professional Polynesian Entertainment Group. The group’s performance includes hula dancers, Samoan drummers, and fire dances. The group typically performs for about an hour.

Traditionally, Maui Sunday was known as Maui Monday and was held annually on Labor Day since 2012. Last year, the POA changed the day from Monday to Sunday and renamed the event Maui Sunday.
