The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (POA) Board of Directors approved a 28-day reading to revise the fine for electric bicycles that are not properly registered with the POA. The board approved to increase the fine from $100 to $250.
All electric bicycles must be registered with the POA. Registration is free; however, an online exam must be completed. Upon successful completion of the exam, the POA will issue a registration tag that must be displayed and visible from the rear of the bicycle.
According to the POA, approximately 920 electric bicycles are currently registered. The updated fine is part of ongoing efforts to promote safety and accountability among e-bike riders in the community.
All riders, including those on personal electric devices, must yield to Community Patrol when requested. This includes regular bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other similar devices. Evading Community Patrol may result in a fine of $250.
