Canyon Lake resident Mark Vermillion, 61, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, mayhem, and elder abuse.
On October 8, deputies responded to a residence on South Fork Drive in Canyon Lake after Vermillion called dispatch and stated that he had just attempted to murder his mother with a hacksaw.
