Hans Weg escorts Santa in the City of Perris Christmas Parade. Photo provided by Hans Weg.Canyon Lake resident Hans Weg had the honor of escorting Santa in the 33rd Annual City of Perris Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 10, through Downtown D St.
Weg chauffeured Santa in his 1965 Ford Galaxie Convertible, which also this year’s first place parade trophy.
“There were 65 entries in the parade and I was number 65,” Weg said. “Then to top it off, Santa parachuted down from an airplane after the parade, and I got thrown in the Riverside County Sheriff’s jail cell by the Grinch. There were thousands of people watching on the parade route. A good time was had by all.”
Weg has participated in the parade for eight years. This is his second year escorting Santa.
A replay of the parade can be viewed on Spectrum Channel 3 and the PerrisTV Livestream on YouTube periodically between now and Christmas Day.
