Canyon Lake residents and their guests are invited to decorate their bikes, scooters, skateboards, wagons, and golf carts and participate in the 19th Annual 4th of July Bike Ride. Walkers and runners are also welcome.
Participants will gather for a group photo at 8:30 a.m. in the driveway at 30525 Longhorn Drive. The ride will start at 9 a.m. and travel to Happy Camp, Big Range Road, Whirlaway Court, and end at Moonstone Beach.
The tradition of the 4th of July Bike Ride started 19 years ago when Karen and Taz Waller opened their driveway on Longhorn Drive to a handful of kids and dads for breakfast and a bike ride through Canyon Lake on the morning of July 4.
The Wallers hosted the bike ride for 14 years, then relocated to Colorado in 2018. Today, Tina and Milton Roller continue the tradition that the Wallers started in 2004. More than 100 Canyon Lake residents participate each year.
