Canyon Lake Boy Scout Matthew Thomas is hosting a Halloween pancake fundraiser to raise funds for his Eagle Scout project.
Thomas is raising funds to go toward bricks for the Veterans Memorial and to repaint the faded Purple Heart and disabled parking spaces at the VFW in Wildomar. The project is expected to cost $2,000.
Breakfast will be held on October 31 from 7 to 11 a.m. at VFW Post #1508, 21180 Waite St., Wildomar. The cost is $6 and includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, coffee, orange juice, and milk. There will be a decorating station with a variety of options for children to decorate their pancakes with.
Fourteen-year-old Thomas is a Life Scout in Troop 2011 and a student at Temescal Canyon High School. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, Thomas must develop and lead a project.
