For the fifth consecutive year, the City of Canyon Lake will place an American flag in the front yard of every home in the community ahead of Memorial Day.
This initiative aims to honor the nation’s heroes and beautify the community with a meaningful display of patriotism.
With 4,800 properties to cover, volunteers are crucial to ensuring the success of this project. Volunteers are needed to tie and prepare flags for placement, collect and turn in flags from last year’s display, and place this year’s flags before Memorial weekend. Students looking to complete community service requirements can earn volunteer hours by participating.
Flag preparation will take place from March 30 through April 2, between 2 and 4 p.m. Flag placement will take place from May 20 through May 22, ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.
Due to community access requirements, volunteers must be residents or guests of residents who are able to access the community. To register as a volunteer, click here.
