Canyon Lake Senior Chair Volleyball Club welcomes new members

The Canyon Lake Senior Chair Volleyball Club invites residents ages 50 and better to join them on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the lodge.

Games are played with a 20-inch beach ball with the players seated in chairs. The net is five feet high, which is two feet lower than a standard volleyball net. Each game is played until one team reaches 15 points.

Chair volleyball is a coed physical activity that provides a fun way to be active. Because players remain seated during the game, chair volleyball allows those with physical limitations to participate on a level playing field with those who may be more active.

“Come in and experience chair volleyball for the fun and exercise,” President PJ Anderson said.

In addition to weekly games, the club will be competing in March against other competitive teams in Sun City.

Club membership is $15 per year. There are currently 45 members. For more information, text PJ Anderson at 951-795-0700.

The Canyon Lake Chair Volleyball Club was formed in 2008 by Debbi Harper, who also formed the Sun City Senior Chair Volleyball Club and authored the book “Chair Volleyball — Play It, Coach It, Love It!
