The Canyon Lake Ski Club’s two-day May Open Tournament kicked off on Saturday with slalom in the morning at the north ski area and jump in the afternoon at the jump lagoon.
Approximately 35 skiers, mostly Canyon Lakers, ranging from ages seven to 70 competed in the tournament. Skiers compete for their own individual scores to try to help improve their national rankings.
The tournament continues on Sunday at the north ski area with slalom in the morning and trick in the afternoon. Spectators are welcome.
The Canyon Lake Ski Club has established itself as one of the nation’s most successful ski clubs through hosting numerous sanctioned tournaments, producing world-class certified waterski officials, and being the home to world, national, and regional champions.
As one of the first organized clubs in Canyon Lake, the club has worked since 1969 to earn a solid reputation within the community through service, event hosting, volunteering, certifications, and facility development.
