Canyon Lake Ski Club to host two-day Memorial Tournament

The Canyon Lake Ski Club is hosting its Memorial Tournament on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, from 7:30 to 5 p.m. The Memorial Tournament pays homage to Canyon Lake water skiers who passed away.

This two-day tournament attracts skiers from across the country, including USA’s top-ranked jumpers, trickers, and slalom skiers.

The tournament begins on Saturday morning with a slalom event at the north ski area, followed by the jump event in the afternoon at the jump lagoon. The action will resume on Sunday at the north ski area with slalom in the morning and trick in the afternoon.

Skiers compete for their own individual scores to try to improve their national rankings.

Spectators are welcome. Skiers can sign up for this tournament through USA Water Ski and Wake Sports.

Founded in 1969, the Ski Club was one of the first organized clubs in Canyon Lake and is an affiliated club of USA Water Ski, the national governing body for towed watersports in the United States underneath the United States Olympic Committee. The Ski Club has established itself as one of the nation’s most successful ski clubs by hosting numerous sanctioned tournaments, producing world-class certified waterski officials, and being the home to world, national, and regional champions.
