Canyon Lake student signs letter of intent to play tennis at Dominican University of California

Canyon Lake student Haley Kielty, 17, on Wednesday signed a letter of intent to play tennis for Dominican University of California, a private university in San Rafael.

Kielty has been a member of the Canyon Lake USTA Jr. Tennis Team for the past seven years and a member of the Temescal Canyon High School Varsity Tennis Team for the past four years. At Temescal Canyon, Kielty was named MVP all four years.

Kielty has a 4.2 GPA and has been a member of ASB for four years, served as the director of the student leadership program Link Crew, and was named Biology Student of the Year during her freshman year. 

Last month, Kielty was named Student of the Month. She will be graduating with honors in June.

Kielty, who has lived in Canyon Lake her entire life, is looking forward to going to college in the fall.
