The golf cart parade will start at 1 p.m. at East Port Park and travel to Gault Field and then to the Towne Center.

Every year on Veterans Day, the City of Canyon Lake hosts a celebration in the Towne Center to honor those who served. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the state’s social distancing requirements, this year’s event will be significantly modified.

This year, there will be no celebration in the Towne Center. Instead, the city will honor veterans with a golf cart parade and a flyover over the main lake. Residents are invited to participate in the parade.

The parade lineup will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the parking lot at East Port Park. There will be a check-in table for participants to sign and turn-in their waiver and specific lineup areas for the different military branches, WWII veterans, and residents who wish to participate. A valid POA decal will be required on participating golf carts.

Led by Mayor Jordan Ehrenkranz, the parade will begin promptly at 1 p.m. and travel to Gault Field and then to the Towne Center. The parade will end in the Towne Center at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Due to social distancing requirements, the city asks that participants do not gather at the end of the parade route. Participants are encouraged to return back into the community to view the Warbirds West planes fly over the main lake at 3 p.m.

In conjunction with this event, three restaurants in the Towne Center will be offering discounts to veterans. The Sports Stop will be offering 50 percent off, the Urban Craft Eatery will be offering 25 percent off to veterans with an ID, and PZA will be offering 50 percent off.
