The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club held its Splash and Dash Sprint/Olympic Triathlon event on Saturday, starting near Harrelson Park at the home of Mark Yegsigian.

Participants could choose to swim, bike, and run one loop for the sprint distance or two loops for the Olympic distance. The Olympic distance consisted of a 1500m lake swim, a 40k bike ride, and a 10k run. The sprint was half the distance.

About 20 members participated. Participants could tailor the event to their abilities. Some participants completed all legs of the triathlon, while others completed parts of it.

The group enjoyed breakfast burritos and socializing after the event.

The club’s next event, Tour De Canyon Lake, will be held on Saturday, June 3. Community members of all ages are invited to participate in this 17-mile ride throughout the community. Both e-bike and standard bike riders are welcome. For more information, contact Karin Cassidy at 951-764-9503.
