The Canyon Lake Quilters Group participates in the movement of creating free patriot quilts for veterans and active duty service members as a way of honoring them for their services.

Every year during the Senior Center Holiday Boutique, the group holds a free raffle for a handmade patriotic quilt. Veterans and active duty service members can enter this raffle at the boutique on Saturday, November 4, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 5, between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The quilt will be presented to the winner at 3 p.m. Participants do not need to be present when the winning ticket is drawn.

The Canyon Lake Quilters is made up of a group of women who meet to work on their quilting projects on the first Wednesday of every month at the Canyon Lake Senior Center. Several of the members belong to local guilds and have made award-winning quilts. For more information about the Canyon Lake Quilters, contact Kathy Barbay at 951-805-3278.
