The POA Board of Directors on Tuesday approved the Veterans and First Responders Group as a sanctioned club, effective May 4.
Some of the benefits of being recognized as a POA sanctioned club include discounted use of POA facilities and common areas, discounted menu items for club banquets, use of certain POA equipment for sanctioned club functions, advertisement for club functions and upcoming events, and club information and contact listing on the POA website.
The Canyon Lake Veterans and First Responders Group was formed in July 2020 by five Canyon Lake residents who wanted to offer support and comradery to the men and women in their community who have or had careers in the same field.
The group meets monthly on the second Saturday at 2 p.m. at the picnic tables at Holiday Harbor Park. This Saturday, May 8, the group will be hosting a potluck-style barbecue for all Canyon Lake veterans and first responders at 2 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park.
