Canyon Lake witches ditched their broomsticks for paddleboards and kayaks on Halloween as they paddled around Canyon Lake in support of breast cancer awareness.
About 30 witches, and a few children, participated in this annual Halloween morning tradition. The majority of the witches departed at 9:30 a.m. from Moonstone Beach. They could be seen paddling on the East Bay, the main lake, and around Skipper’s Island for more than an hour.
“It was a blast,” Julie White-Duhlgren said. “The women who did this before were helpful to newcomers like me. Thank you to the lead boats who watch over us.”
