In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club is holding a Logo Contest with a cash prize of $100 for the winning logo.
The contest runs from July 1 through August 1. Submissions for the 50th-anniversary logo should be emailed in jpeg format to [email protected].
Formed on October 18, 1972, the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for student scholarships and individuals and charities in need. The club has donated more than $400,000 in its 50-year history.
The Woman’s Club was instrumental in opening the Canyon Lake Library in 1980. The library later became part of the Riverside County Library System.
The Woman’s Club has hosted a variety of community events in its long-standing history. In the early years, philanthropy events included rummage sales and swap meets, bake sales, bridge marathons, and chili cookoffs. Today, the majority of the funds are raised through the club’s annual Fashion show and Holiday Home Tour.
Woman’s Club meetings are held from September through June on the third Wednesday of each month at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Doors open at 9 a.m. for vendor shopping and socializing. The general meetings start at 10 a.m. and include a guest speaker and lunch. Lunch is optional and must be reserved. For more information, visit www.canyonlakewomansclub.com.
