The Canyon Lake Yacht Club announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarships, recognizing the academic achievements, community involvement, and personal accomplishments of local students.
This year, the club received 12 impressive applications, making the selection process both exciting and challenging.
After a thorough review, the club awarded $1,000 scholarships to three exceptional students: Lincoln Kingdon, Isabel Zamary, and Josh Strange were each awarded $1,000.
Temescal Canyon High School student Lincoln Kingdon maintains a 4.0 GPA. He plans to attend EMT school and pursue a career as a firefighter. A student-athlete and Student of the Month, Kingdon has demonstrated exceptional dedication to service and teamwork. In addition to the scholarship, Kingdon was invited to join the Yacht Club members on the club’s float for the Fiesta Day parade.
Temescal Canyon High School student Isabel Zamary has a 4.66 GPA. Zamary will be attending UCLA as a pre-business economics major, with aspirations to become a fund manager, financial advisor, or financial manager. In addition to her academic achievements, Zamary has been active in the Interact Club, served as a tutor, and was a member of the tennis club. Her well-rounded involvement and drive made her stand out as a top scholarship candidate.
Temescal Canyon High School student Josh Strange has a 3.76 GPA. He will be attending Southern Utah University, where he plans to major in aviation science with the goal of becoming a commercial pilot. Known for his involvement in basketball and volleyball, Strange is recognized for his strong work ethic, character, and leadership skills.
“All three recipients are incredibly deserving, and we’re honored to support their next steps,” Yacht Club Commodore Rob Mora said. “We’re honored to support their next steps.”
The Canyon Lake Yacht Club was established in 1990 by residents who enjoyed time on the lake. Since that time, the club has operated as a social and philanthropic club within the Canyon Lake constellation of POA-sanctioned clubs and organizations.
The Yacht Club maintains a busy social calendar, bringing members together for dinners, sunset cruises, and other recreation. The club also hosts Canyon Lake’s iconic Parade of Lights holiday boat parade and gives back to the community through its student scholarship program.
