Canyon Lake Yacht Club members gathered on January 25 at the East Pork Activities Building for a special dinner reception to recognize the winners of the 42nd Annual Parade of Lights and welcome the club’s new 2025 leadership. Attendees enjoyed dinner, dessert, and drinks provided by the club.
The evening highlighted the creativity and festive spirit of the boat parade participants, with each winner receiving a commemorative plaque in recognition of their contributions to one of the club’s most cherished and long-standing community traditions.
The Commodore’s Award was presented to Paul Klobetanz and Tracy Watkins for their outstanding “Santa’s Bathtime” float.

- Best Club Entry 1st Place: Guild’s Rockin Santa by Cindy Cameron
- Best Club Entry 2nd Pace: Car Club’s 1956 Chevy by Doug Ray
- Best Themed: Christmas Story Leg Lamp by Holly and Dave Durston
- Best Pontoon 1st Place: Disney Dreamin’ by Trisha and Matt Rugh
- Best Pontoon 2nd Place: Canyon Lake Express by Diann and Brian Oltman
- Best Ski Boat 1st Place: Santa Claus by Sandra and Earl Rehder
- Best Ski Boat 2nd Place: Ski Club’s Seahorse by Jay Fitzpatrick
Following the presentation of the awards, the 2025 board was installed. Rob Mora will continue at the helm as commodore for the second consecutive year, leading the club into another exciting season of activities and events. Also returning are Membership Chair Cathy Lekawa and Event Chair Cindy Silk-Gonzalez. They will be joined by two new board members: Vice Commodore Craig Brown and Yeoman Dona Ziegler, who bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to the leadership team. The position of purser remains vacant at this time.
The club’s next event will be a potluck on February 22 at Holiday Harbor Park
