Canyon Lake Yacht Club granted nonprofit status

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club announced it was recently granted 501(c)3 nonprofit status from the state of California. “This is an important milestone for the club as it grows and becomes a more important part of the community,” Commodore Ron Wilbur said. “With this new nonprofit status, the club now offers the additional benefit for donors and sponsors that their gifts are tax deductible.”

Formed in 1990, the Yacht Club has a current membership of 131. The membership is comprised of residents of all ages and all interests. Boat ownership is not required to be a member. Annual membership is $15 and can be paid online on the club’s website at www.canyonlakeyachtclub.com.

Themed cruises for the 2023 season include St Paddy’s “Day-After,” Mardi Gras, Pirates & Wenches, Hawaiian Island, Oktoberfest, Halloween, Veterans Day, and Coast Guard Day. Other events include the  Opening Day of Boating Season/Blessing of the Boats, Whale Hunt, Lake Clean-Up, Waterfront Holiday Display Competition and Tour, and the club’s iconic Parade of Lights Boat Parade.
