The Canyon Lake Yacht Club invites its members and their guests to test their luck on the waters at its inaugural boat Poker Run on Saturday, August 15, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The family-friendly event will take participants on a scenic cruise around Canyon Lake, with stops at several parks to collect playing cards in hopes of building the best poker hand.
Check-in begins at Holiday Harbor Park, where participants will receive their game scorecards. Following check-in, a captains meeting will be held to review the event rules, distribute scorecards, and conduct a safety briefing before boats begin departing.
The Poker Run route includes stops at Skipper’s Island, Roadrunner Park, Diamond Point Park, and Moonstone Beach before returning to Holiday Harbor Park. There will be a game challenge at each park and chances to win extra cards.
Dinner and the announcement of the winning hands will begin at 7 p,m. back at Holiday Harbor Park. Participants are encouraged to bring their own beverages for dinner, as well as lawn chairs.
Prizes will be awarded for both the best poker hand and the worst poker hand.
The cost is $10 per scorecard, with proceeds helping cover event expenses and fund the prizes.
