The Canyon Lake Yacht Club is hosting a Boating Clinic on Saturday, March 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Holiday Harbor Park Docks.
This free clinic is open to Canyon Lake residents ages 12 and older. Yacht Club membership and boat ownership are not requirements to participate in the clinic.
Attendees will learn how to drive a boat, back up a trailer, and prepare a boat for boating season.
The Yacht Club will have instructors for each type of power boat, covering basic operations. Participants will learn boating safety and navigation protocols and get hands-on experience at the docks before heading out on the water to watch instructors demonstrate the basics under power.
This informative clinic is designed to be interactive. Attendees can get one-on-one time with experienced boat modifiers and service techs. Independent service techs and representatives of prominent local marine centers will demonstrate tips and tricks for getting boats ready for a season of fun on the water.
Yacht Club leaders will also share their insights from personal experience of modifying their vessels.
