The Canyon Lake Yacht Club will be holding its annual members picnic and scholarship awards presentation on Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Sierra Park.
This traditional club event will feature a potluck, games, and a presentation of scholarships to two graduating high school seniors. The Yacht Club is providing the main dish, with attending members bringing potluck side dishes and beverages.
Honored this year are two Canyon Lake graduating high school seniors that were recommended by the club’s scholarship leaders, Jennifer and Dave Dain. The honorees and their families will be in attendance for the picnic and presentation.
The Yacht Club was established in 1990 by Canyon Lake residents who enjoyed time on the lake. Since that time, the Yacht Club has operated as a social and philanthropic club within the Canyon Lake constellation of sanctioned clubs and organizations.
The Yacht Club maintains a busy social calendar, bringing members together for dinners, sunset cruises, and other recreation. The club also hosts Canyon Lake’s iconic Parade of Lights holiday boat parade and gives back to the community through its student scholarship program.
