Canyon Lake’s 10th Annual Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive brings in more than 500 toys

This year’s Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive collected more toys than in year’s past. More than 500 toys were donated, according to organizer Mike Shroyer.

“This is the most toys we’ve ever collected,” said Shroyer. “The year 2020 has not had a lot of bright spots, but this is definitely one.”

More than 150 golf carts participate in the community-wide event hosted by the Street Carts of Canyon Lake. Participants and spectators were encouraged to donate an unwrapped toy to the Toy Drive.

The toys were sorted and distributed to Calvary Canyon Hills Food Pantry and foster care organizations in Riverside County. “It was such a blessing to receive all the donated toys,” said Shroyer. “Thank you to the POA, fire department, security, police department, and the amazing people of Canyon Lake and Street Carts for making this such a successful event.”

Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for its charitable work. The club’s annual events include the Poker Run, Golf Cart Drive-In Movie, and Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive. The club also participates in Canyon Lake’s Annual Fiesta Day. A lifetime club membership is $25. For more information, contact Mike Shroyer at 951-244-6461.
