The Canyon Lake community will come together in fellowship for its 13th Annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7, on the terrace at the lodge. All residents and their guests are invited to attend this meaningful community gathering. Reservations are not required.
The morning will begin at 9:30 with light refreshments, offering attendees an opportunity to mingle and connect before the program commences at 10 a.m.
Councilman Mark Terry will emcee this year’s event. Riverside County Supervisor Karen Spiegel will deliver the keynote address, highlighting the importance of unity and resilience.
Throughout the hour-long program, local officials and leaders, pastors, and community members will offer prayers. Musical performances will also be part of the morning, adding a reflective and uplifting tone to the gathering.
Special moments of prayer will recognize first responders, active military and veterans, those impacted by war, civic leaders, as well as at-risk youth, children, seniors, and families.
National Day of Prayer has been celebrated in the U.S. since 1952, by joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer.
