Canyon Lake residents are invited to kick off their Thanksgiving morning with some fun, fitness, and community spirit at the annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 27. Participants will gather at 8 a.m. at Gault Field for a group photo, followed by the trot at 8:30 a.m.

This free event is open to Canyon Lake residents and their families and guests, encouraging everyone to “move their feet before they eat.” Costumes are highly encouraged to add to the festive spirit.

The Turkey Trot features a 5K run/walk suitable for all ages. The 3.1-mile route starts at Gault Field, crosses Longhorn Drive onto Hoofbeat Way, turns right onto Big Range, then left onto Longhorn Drive to Strawberry Lane, and loops back to the starting point.

The Turkey Trot offers residents a healthy, family-friendly way to start the holiday while celebrating the community’s spirit and camaraderie. Whether walking, jogging, or running, all are welcome to take part in this Thanksgiving Day tradition.

And they're off. Turkey Trot participants depart from Gault Field. Photo provided by Karin Cassidy.
