Canyon Lake’s Fiesta Day Park Hopper offers three days of fun, food, and festivities

Canyon Lake’s three-day Fiesta Day Park Hopper kicked off tonight and will run through Sunday, offering three days of fun, food, and festivities. Held annually since 1973, Fiesta Day is considered the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events.

Historically, Fiesta Day took place on the Saturday before Memorial Day. In 2021, with the COVID pandemic looming, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association opted for a Fiesta Day “Park Hopper” event. Instead of all the festivities taking place at the lodge in one day, the festivities were spread out over the weekend and at several locations throughout Canyon Lake to avoid large crowds from gathering in one place. This tradition carries on today.

Fiesta Day’s main event is its iconic hometown parade, an annual tradition that brings families, neighbors, and friends together to celebrate patriotism, honor the memory of those who served, and embrace the community’s theme of Lake Life. This event attracts 5,000 to 10,000 spectators each year.

The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Canyon Lake Drive North and Mayflower Drive. From there, the parade will make its way down Canyon Lake Drive North and turn right onto Vacation Drive to its endpoint at Lighthouse Drive. Streets along the parade route will close at 8:30 a.m.

The parade is followed by two days of activities, entertainment, and food at five locations throughout the community: Holiday Harbor Park, Indian Beach, Sierra Park, East Port Park, and the Lodge.
