In June 2022, the city selected Culture Cannabis Club as the successful applicant of the city’s first Commercial Cannabis Business Permit.
In early November 2022, Culture Cannabis Club signed a Community Benefit and Neighborhood Compatibility Agreement and was issued the permit.
Per the terms of the permit, Culture Cannabis Club must obtain certificate of occupancy by June 1, 2023. “They are working hard to open as soon as possible and have already submitted all required documents to the Building Department,” City Manager Chris Mann said.
The city should start seeing revenue from the dispensary by the end of May, as the one-time payment of $205,000 is due prior to the issuance of the certificate of occupancy. The quarterly community benefits payments of 15.1 percent of revenue or $305,000, whichever is greater, will commence with the issuance of the certificate of occupancy. The agreement guarantees ongoing revenue to the city of no less than $1,220,000 annually.
