Canyon Lake’s head tennis pro Brien Sullivan has resigned due to health issues. “Brien did an amazing job here as our pro,” said Tennis Club President Bobby Kielty. “He brought in our first professional USTA sponsored tournament, organized Demo Day, locked in Head Sports as our main sponsor, dramatically increased our adult and junior programs, ran multiple junior camps, and much more.”
Upon hearing the news of Sullivan’s resignation, members expressed their gratitude on the Tennis Club’s Facebook page. “Brien Sullivan you are the best. Thank you for being such an amazing pro, you are surely going to be missed,” Gyan Barringham posted. Marina Stinson posted, “Thank you for bringing so much to our club. You will be missed.”
“Brien was an incredible asset to our community and his presence will be an impactful loss, he will be missed greatly,” Jennifer Denson said. “Brian set some big shoes to fill and we can’t thank him enough for guiding us in the right direction. He set the foundation for such incredible tennis opportunities and we love each of the programs he has established and grown. We wish him well.”
Kielty will be filling Sullivan’s position until a new pro is determined by the POA. “I am very thankful to have had Brien here and I have learned so much from him on how a true professional club should be run,” Kielty said.
