Canyon Lake resident Jassibeth Oro continues to make her mark on the pickleball scene, recently earning first place in the Women’s 4.0 at the SoCal Pickleball Club Battle of the Paddles alongside her partner, Menifee resident Suzette Donathan.
The duo dominated the competition, playing seven consecutive matches undefeated over a two-hour period. Their teamwork paid off as they secured the top spot in the tournament, each earning $100 cash, a $100 health spa gift card, and a medal.
“The partnership with Suzette has evolved into a close friendship that has been fundamental in my successes, and motivates me to reach higher goals,” Oro said.
Oro’s win comes on the heels of two second place wins at the iPickle Jingle Ball Pickleball Tournament, where she teamed up with Donathan and Canyon Lake resident Cory Hughes.
Having started pickleball just three years ago, Oro has quickly risen through the ranks, racking up 15 medals in that time.
Oro plays at the Canyon Lake pickleball courts a couple of times a week, and at the So Cal Pickleball Club about three times a week. Her consistent practice schedule reflects her commitment to the sport and continued growth as a competitor.
