El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds that culminates yearly on April 30.
The Canyon Lake Library celebrated Día on Saturday with an event that offered crafts, storytime, face painting, and giveaway bags.
The library set up seven activity stations: get your passport, origami animals, storytime with Miss Ginny, make a rose, color our world, puzzle people, and face painting. Participants received a sticker for each station they visited. Those who visited all six stations were rewarded with a free book.
The Canyon Lake Library is located at 31594 Railroad Canyon Rd. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
